Sweet and cheerful Anna Merryweather's 25th birthday and thus a visit from the Baleful Godmother are approaching. She's not sure which gift to choose. She already seems to be gifted with a form of foresight. She's called Merry, which suits her personality. Determined to settle the rift between Marcus, Lord Cosgrove (from Miss Appleby), and his best friend Sir Barnaby, she realizes she must first get Barnaby to forgive himself. This story has suspenseful as well as tender moments.
